I’m back with another “soon to be viral” blog telling you my five favorite things to do in Colorado this weekend. Reminder, I’m not a professional anything I just like to eat, smoke, drink and have some fun. With the weather becoming nicer after a bone chilling cold front I imagine a lot of folks will be hitting the parks and I-70 for outdoor activities. However, I’m here to talk about cool people and vibes in the community. Here are five things worth checking out this weekend:

Mile High Asian Food Week – I’ll keep this short and sweet since I blogged about it earlier this week (Check it out HERE). 50+ vendors around the metro are teaming up for collaborations, pop ups, secret menus and kitchen takeovers. You can check out their website/map HERE to find participating locations nearest you.

ALEXSUCKS! – The Denver native is returning to the same town that raised him. The rising star in the music industry and Los Angeles resident is throwing down Friday night at Globe Hall.Tickets aren’t too steep, and there are still some General Admission tickets available. Snag them HERE

Snipe Burger – The smash burger Kings of Colorado — and they make pretty great wings too — is doing a collaboration and keg tap with Novel Strand Brewing Saturday at 11am. They sell out every time they do these type of events, bringing foodies and craft beer lovers to descend upon their Wheat Ridge location. Get there early post up at the bar and wait on one of the best burgers in the city (in my humble opinion).

Jay Mohr is at Comedy Works – Yes, he’s that guy from Sports radio, TV sitcoms and touring the world telling jokes. Mohr was a household name for decades and he’s revisiting the Mile High City this weekend with a new set for us to laugh at. The comedian will be here Thursday through Saturday at Comedy Works South in the Denver Tech Center. While you’re there try some Carrera’s Tacos. Get your tickets HERE and take a step back into your younger years.

Weekend with the kids: Cripple Creek Ice Festival is going down two hours south of the city. If you’re going to spend an exorbitant amount of time in the car with kids you better have a great end destination and I don’t mean Vail village. That is where the Ice sculpture events come into play. Check this out from the Ice Festival website:

“The head-to-head carving challenges will also be returning to the event on Saturdays at 12:00, 1:30 and 3:00.  Carvers will compete in a stadium setting for a $1,000 cash prize each weekend.  Carving teams will also be doing their best to win the People’s Choice Award for an overall cash prize of $5,000.  Plan your visit and cast your vote for the most impressive carving…” (check the rest of the description in the link above)

So if you got the kids this weekend and would like to get out of the house, go hit up the Ice Festival. Maybe book a room at the casino and party.

Lastly, but certainly not least- The Roots are at Mission Ballroom Saturday! If you’re looking to get down & have a good time, this is the place to be Saturday night. Tickets are available through multiple markets, just hunt the cheapest price!

That’s all I’ve got! Have a great weekend.
