Year after year, The Steve Miller Band has entertained music fans at Red Rocks, and they’ll be back in 2023 when they play the legendary venue in September.

Miller, a Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famer, has been the constant since 1966, but the band itself has had more than 30 members throughout its many iterations. Despite never having a No. 1 hit – though “The Joker” (No. 2 in Oct. 1973), “Book of Dreams” (No. 2 in May 1977), “Fly Like an Eagle” (No. 3 in May 1976), and “Abracadabra” (No. 3 in Jun. 1982) came close – Miller’s popularity has sustained throughout the decades.

“I grew up in a family where music was on all the time,” Miller said on his website. “My mother was a singer, her brothers were jazz violinists, and Les Paul was my godfather—so I was surrounded by music and thrilled and fascinated by it and that’s all I ever wanted to do. Once I saw Les Paul play, I was hooked.”

The Steve Miller Band is scheduled to play Red Rocks on Sept. 11; tickets go on sale at Ticketmaster on 10:00 am on Friday, Feb. 17.
