Dead and Company, an offshoot of the Grateful Dead that features a number of the surviving members from the original band, will pay a visit to Folsom Field as the group embarks on what is billed as “The Final Tour”.
Word travels fast and we wanted to be the first to let you know that Dead & Company will be hitting the road next summer for what will be our final tour.
Stay tuned for a full list of dates for what will surely be an exciting, celebratory, and heartfelt last run of shows. pic.twitter.com/Pbvcm8eT5f

The group consists of surviving members of the original Grateful Dead, including Bob Weir (vocals, guitar), Bill Kreutzmann (Drums), Mickey Hart (Drums), and newcomers like Oteil Burbridge (bass, vocals), Jeff Chimenti (piano) and John Mayer (vocals, guitar).
The group first toured together in the Fall/Winter of 2015. The 2023 tour is billed as their final as a group, which is not surprising considering the age of the surviving Grateful Dead members and the alternative interests of the other artists.
Mayer penned a note to his Instagram page regarding the future of the group and the upcoming tour to his social media accounts, saying:
“As we put the finishing touches on booking venues, and understanding that word travels fast, we wanted to be the first to let you know that Dead & Company will be hitting the road next summer for what will be our final tour,” Mayer wrote. “Stay tuned for a full list of dates for what will surely be an exciting, celebratory, and heartfelt last run of shows. With love and appreciation, Dead & Company.”
Dead and Company represent a bridge from one era of deadheads to the next, says fan Darin Fischer:
“Dead and company brings literally four generations together, all conglomerating in one place,” Fischer told Mile High Life” From boomers, to gen x to millennials to gen z. No matter what, all of them though the ages, are there for one thing: the music and the atmosphere. I’ve seen teenagers share memories with boomers about just the freedom of living life and vice versa. A completely judgment-free zone that spans generations.”
The final Colorado Dead and Company shows are set for July 1, 2, and 3 at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado.
